ChickensPrompt: "And Then I knew..."Chickens
When I was five my brother said, "Kid, do you see that? That is a chicken." I stared at him. He had to be lying. Chickens didn't have four legs. I was positive. They had two just like he and I did, but he reassured me that they were chickens. So, like any good little brother I believed him. At the time I idolized him in every way and if he did it, I did it. If he said it, so did I. We were inseperable.
Twenty years later things have changed. We don't speak. We don't visit. We don't have any form of communication.
When he turned 18 I caught him mauling a girl

A Day In The ParkThis morning I'd woken to an interesting thought. I'll go to the park today. I hadn't been to the park since I was a little kid and it seemed like the perfect thing to end my perpetual writer's block. I'd quickly jumped out of bed, dressed, grabbed my jacket and hurried out the door.A Day In The Park
It was a glorious day. The sky was slightly over cast and there was a slight chill to the air. Absolutely perfect. The park I planned on visiting was only a few blocks away and I made it quickly. I wandered around, looking for a place to sit quietly and write in the notebook I had stashed in my pocket. I never went anywhere without it. It was m

What does one - especially one new or growing in poetry - do? Well, that's simple: a poet must punctuate with purpose!Punctuating Poetry Part One
In order to punctuate with purpose, however, a poet must understand two things: what she wants to achieve with the poem and what a piece of punctuation can achieve in a poem. This means a poet must understand more than the common rules of punctuation; she must know the effect that certain punctuation points can have on a reader or in a text.

| Well, I have to admit that I'm not a very interesting person. As you can see, I write both Prose and Poetry, though my poetry is rather at the low end on the scale. I like a variety of things from reading to dancing around like a fool. I love music and listen to all genres except most rap and death metal. And....there isn't really a lot more to say about myself. |
